Grundfos launches new generation of TPE3 inline pumps

Grundfos launches new generation of TPE3 inline pumps, with highest ever energy efficiency from 0.25 to 22 kW

Grundfos, a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technology, is announcing a new generation of TPE3 inline pumps.

The new range now includes uniform models from 0.25 to 22 kW. MGE motors with maximum IE5 energy efficiency, improved hydraulics and intelligent functions reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions and life cycle costs.

Selection, installation and commissioning are even easier thanks to fewer models, high connectivity and a standardised setup wizard.

Soon, Grundfos will also be offering the TPE 1000 and 2000 series with motors up to 90 kW instead of the previous 55 kW. So the TPE range will cover motor performance from 0.25 to 90 kW with IE5 energy efficiency.

TPE3 inline pumps with integrated frequency converter and differential pressure and temperature sensor were previously only available up to 2.2 kW motor output.

With the new models, Grundfos is expanding the motorisation up to 22 kW. All models are equipped with highly efficient, regulated MGE motors and integrated frequency inverters that achieve IE5 efficiency in accordance with IEC 60034-30-2.

While planners and installers previously had to switch to other configurations for higher motor performance, uniform TPE3 models are now available up to 22 kW. This simplifies selection and allows for commissioning pumps up to 22 kW with one setup wizard.

More than ever, the most important tool for the new TPE3 models is the Grundfos GO app. The app is currently being redesigned and expanded for a more intuitive user interface and enhanced functionality.

The pumps can communicate with Grundfos GO in real time via the integrated Bluetooth LE interface. This enables easy, dialog-guided commissioning and convenient access to settings, real-time data and intelligent functions such as AutoAdapt, FlowAdapt or flow limitation.

The app functions also include activating and configuring interfaces. The new TPE3 models have a softCIM for Modbus RTU board which can be unlocked via app. In future, BACnet will also be available in this way. In addition, the TPE3 still has physical slots for CIM modules for other protocols. The pump is equipped with an Ethernet IP interface for connection to cloud solutions such as Grundfos Connect. Overall, this makes the TPE3 extremely flexible for seamless integration into numerous applications.

In terms of design, the new generation is slightly more compact than the previous models. The most important development is the improved hydraulics. The entire hydraulic system of the TPE3 has been redeveloped and specially adapted to the inline design and the MGE motor. This enables a significant reduction in the number of different types, which further simplifies selection and commissioning. The series now covers motor outputs from 0.25 to 22 kW with just 12 types in nominal sizes DN32 to DN200. In terms of sustainability, the pump has an environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with EN15804 and ISO 14025.

The TPE 2000 (with factory-fitted differential pressure sensor) and 1000 (without sensor) will only be available with motor outputs above 22 kW in future and will be replaced by the new TPE3 models. In the higher performance range, Grundfos will offer TPE 1000 and 2000 models with IE5 motors up to 90 kW. This means that in future Grundfos inline pumps from 0.25 to 90 kW will be available with the highest energy efficiency level IE5 as standard. The TPE pumps are suitable for a wide range of applications from HVAC systems to district heating.
