Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) training
As Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) reporting shifts from best practice to a regulatory baseline, the demand for rigorous, standardised assessment has become more urgent.
CIBSE Training’s WLCA suite provides a pathway from foundational awareness to advanced, project-ready execution. Our courses equip practitioners with the methodologies needed to calculate, analyse and mitigate carbon emissions.
The curriculum is split into two distinct, on-demand modules tailored to experience levels:
WLCA foundation training
This module covers the building blocks of carbon reporting, including embodied carbon, life-cycle assessment fundamentals, environmental product declarations (EPDs), material sourcing and international standards.
WLCA practitioner training
This advanced module equips building professionals with the practical methodologies, software applications and standards – including the RICS 2nd Edition (2023) standard – needed to deliver life-cycle assessments on live projects.
The course covers international policy, LCA inputs, calculation software and results reporting, and culminates in a two-part examination.
