Digital engineering training

CIBSE offers nine training modules to enhance the knowledge and abilities of engineers and technicians

A series of on-demand digital engineering (DE) training modules, aimed at those involved in all stages of a project, is available from CIBSE.

It comprises nine modules, taking learners through pre-qualification questionnaires, BIM execution plans, cyber security, and soft landings. Each module is accompanied by a supporting publication, and free templates are available.

The DE series is designed to enhance the knowledge and abilities of engineers and technicians working in all aspects of BIM and digital engineering. The final three modules will be released later this year.

Learners will be awarded a ‘CIBSE Basics of BIM’ certificate on completion of all nine modules.

The Digital Engineering Series modules reflect the contents of the BS and PAS 1192 series. These have now been largely superseded by the ISO 19650 series. However, the processes and procedures remain the same, even if some of their names have changed. For a better understanding of these changes, refer to PD 19650-0, which covers the transition from the ‘1192 series’ to the ISO 19650 series.
