Atkins apprentice wins Fan Makers’ CIBSE bursary

Recipient keen to progress in controls and building management

The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers’ CIBSE 2024/25 Bursary has been awarded to Mergim Muhadri.

The judges said Muhadri – who is in the third year of his degree apprenticeship with Atkins – is passionate about embedding technology to increase efficiency in design and reduce risk in the building services industry. He is also inspiring and guiding younger engineers to continue their path through their apprenticeships, they added.

Muhadri excels in maths and physics, speaks several languages, and is keen to progress in the controls and building management side of the industry. He also wants to go on to study at Master’s level.

‘Mergim was a clear winner for this year’s bursary,’ said Peter Anderson, CIBSE elected councillor and chair at Troup Bywaters + Anders.

‘His willingness to help others shone through in his application and he will no doubt make a huge contribution to society as a whole in years to come.’
